The Launch of the Pilot Version of the Education Management Information System

The Ministry of Education announced the launch of the pilot version of the Education Management Information system

This system, developed by ITG, is part of the cooperation with the (JTAP) technical support program, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The launch of the pilot version of the Education Management Information System was announced during a ceremony sponsored by the Minister of Education, Professor Mr Azmi Mahafzah.

Many distinguished personalities attended the ceremony, including representatives of supporting and partnering entities and several department directors and education directors in the ministry.

The system manages all required data in its primary and aggregated form, to facilitate the data extraction process and support decision-making at various educational and administrative levels. It also efficiently harnesses all means to enhance the Educational Decision Support System (EDSS), in addition to providing models at various levels and providing fixed reports and flexible query technologies (Power Query) to prepare the necessary statistical outputs and flexible Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) needed by the Educational Decision Support System.

The Education Management Information System serves the administrative level in educational institutions by providing them with reports and enabling them to instantly access records and archives of actual performance, thus forming the basis for planning, control, and decision support systems. the Education Management Information System also aims to improve educational institutions' administrative and educational levels. The system provides detailed reports and enables the educational community to instantly access records and archives of actual performance evaluations. This information serves as a strong basis for planning and control processes with decision support systems in educational institutions.

In a press statement, the Director of the Educational Supervision Department, MR. Mohammed Al-Momani expressed the importance of launching this Education Management Information System.

He said: “We are working on developing the educational administrative information system as a response and translation of the royal visions for the economic development of the Kingdom led by His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II. This step in development is an important part of the ministry’s digital transformation strategy. The Jordanian Ministry of Education has taken upon itself the responsibility of digitizing the administrative operations and service system as part of the technological development of government services”

He explained the importance of the project in developing administrative and educational systems as a basic pillar partner in follow-up and planning processes to formulate educational and educational policies in the ministry. He added: … “This works to improve learning and teaching services through access to tangible data and guides by the administrations of the partner institutions in this system, which will work to reach administrative decisions based on reports containing accurate and clear evidence”.

The ceremony included a demonstration by the Director of the Supervision and Support Directorate, Mr Juma Al-Saud, to explain the main axes of the Education Management Information System and its importance to educational administrations as a solution that works to organize all reports and assist in planning and follow-up processes. He pointed out that the Education Management Information System contains five main axes, which are: educational supervision, quality of education and accountability, protection and safe environment, school and directorate development, and professional development component.

All stages of preparation and implementation of the project and its circulation to all directorates of education and education in all governorates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan were clarified during the demonstration.

Through the Education Management Information System, the ministry seeks to improve the quality of supervisory services according to the best global practices, which would develop professional practices within the educational structure.

From here, it works to improve the quality of supervisory processes within a framework that works to develop and support the school performance of students and enhance teachers and enable them through professional development and enable the administrative body.

The Education Management Information System, which was designed to serve a wide range of participants in the educational process including teachers, school principals’ education directors and educational supervisors, is an important step towards achieving digital transformation in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan..

The system will also work to provide a wide range of data that would support educational supervision processes and facilitate decision-making processes.

It is worth mentioning that the ministry will work to provide tablets for all educational supervisors based on the project plan, which enhances efficiency and productivity in educational processes.
