IT Help Desk Specialist (Amman – Jordan) Ref#: 2735

Integrated Technology Group (ITG) is seeking an IT Help Desk Specialist in Amman, Jordan.

The IT Help Desk Specialist provides technical and troubleshooting assistance related to computer hardware and software, mobile devices and other tech tools and products; troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve problems related to operating systems, hardware and software. 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assuring users are provided efficient and timely technical support that adheres to SLAs established by senior management.
  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware; respond to queries either in person or over the phone.
  • Install and configure computing devices and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
  • Install client applications and configure according to established procedures / policies.
  • Resolve technical problems with Computers, Personal Computing devices, Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems.
  • Walks end-users through problem-solving process; ask questions to determine nature of problem; follow up with customers to ensure issue has been resolved.
  • Assist team members with daily operations, ensuring all computing systems are running optimally.
  • Perform basic repairs on desktop computers and laptops including hardware repairs and removal of viruses / worms / trojan horses / malware.
  • Recover PCs using backup restoration and other recovery methods.
  • Research client software and hardware problems and come up with resolutions and/or workarounds.
  • Document problems and conversations to create a log that can be referenced by other technicians and for training purposes. 

Required Skills

  • Solid hands on experience in the following languages/tools/environments:
    • Windows Operating Systems
    • TCP/IP Networking / Firewalls / Switches
    • Wireless Networking Protocols / Networks
    • Operating system and general software installation
    • Backup / restore
    • Active Directory
    • DNS / WINS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive, proactive and motivated self-starter and team-player.
  • Advanced computer abilities with the understanding of terminology and functionality.
  • Computer tuning and troubleshooting skills.
  • Physical ability to safely carry and move computing equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.. 

Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
    • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on Help Desk support experience.
