EduWave™ in Bahrain: EduWave™, the Middle East e-Learning Platform, to Empower .25 Million Users in Bahrain’s Public Schools and Education System
Education in schools in the Kingdom of Bahrain will no longer be the same again. The Ministry of Education (MOE), Government of Bahrain, is all set to embrace information technology in a big way in the public schools of Bahrain. This landmark development will be achieved with the help of Integrated Technology Group (ITG), Jordan, and Bahrain based premier IT services and solutions company, Apple Centre, a division of business conglomerate, Almoayyed International Group (AIG).
Apple Centre and ITG yesterday entered into a multi-million dollar agreement with the Ministry of Education, to deploy ITG’s e-Learning Platform EduWave in the Kingdom’s public schools countrywide, serving around a quarter of a million users. The contract was awarded to Apple Centre and ITG after competing in a large tender against 23 regional and international vendors. The project is to be implemented in phases. The first phase will be launched in September 2004, allowing a number of schools to start using EduWave as their official e-learning platform. Under this agreement, ITG will conduct specialized teacher training. The firm will also develop e-content for the Bahraini curricula grades 1-12, to be implemented through ITG’s new media subsidiary, JAID Productions.
