Under the patronage of his Excellency, the Minister of Education Dr. Khaled Toukan, Integrated Technology Group (ITG) hosted a special event on Monday March 26, 2007 for honoring the 2006 winner of the "EduWave™ Best User Award”.
The Award was launched last year by Integrated Technology Group; it aims to encourage increased utilization of the EduWave e-Learning Platform among all users. The 1,000 JD annual award is divided into two categories and is presented to the most active users in appreciation for the diverse activities they perform through EduWave.
“Our objective is to support the integration of technology into education, and encourage the full utilization of EduWave throughout the Kingdom’s schools.” said ITG’s CEO Mr. Walid Tahabsem. “We aim to assist in developing our children’s education and employability skills, and help them be better prepared for the future. This will reflect positively on all of us as individuals, as businesses, and as local communities, and will eventually lead to positive contribution to our national economy.” Mr. Tahabsem continued, "We would like to thank the ministry's staff for their efforts, and express our special appreciation for His Excellency's continuous support, great efforts, and unique vision in developing education in Jordan."
The award winner is selected based on specific criteria which include the comprehensive usage of the platform, the accuracy and consistency of data entry and utilization, maintaining security, the level of communication and collaboration with other users, the level of involvement in related follow-up and training programs, etc.
In his keynote speech at the event, His Excellency Dr. Khaled Toukan praised the efforts of his staff at the Ministry of Education and appealed for their continued efforts towards expanding EduWave’s utilization through the many tools and functionalities it provides, in order to increase total efficiency and support the educational process in Jordan.
The event also included a speech by the Director of “Queen Rania Center” Mr. Sari Haimour, who illustrated the Center’s role in supporting technology for education in Jordan. Moreover, two live experiences on unique usages of EduWave were shared during the ceremony by Mrs. Ruba Omran, who is a parent from the “Wadi Mousa” southern district, and Mrs. Basimah Darweeesh, a teacher from the “Ain Jaloot School for girls”.
